Thomas Creswick - Two Pictures

1811 - 1869.
Landscape painter, mainly in Wales and the North of England and usually featuring streams or water. Studied under John Vincent Barber in Birmingham but moved to London in 1828 and exhibited at the RA and elsewhere. Although the range of his work was fairly limited it was very popular, though often criticised by Ruskin. He also did some book illustration.
